Last night was a lovely night out.
choose_again,
lediva,
tacotortoise,
rigel,
bleemoo and I all went out to see Hot Fuzz, then came home and watched Spaced and Green Wing until we were all giggly and loopy from non-sleep. Huzzah.
Hot Fuzz was, as everyone said, awesome. Without giving anything away, Pegg and Wright are very good at taking your basic action movie premises and then distorting/exhaggerating them in ways that appeal even more to the geeky audience.
In other news, found out that one of my best friends from college and his wife are expecting a baby. Not a month ago, a former co-worker of mine changed his AIM icon to a pic of his new-born son. Wow. It's happening. My peers are beginning to reproduce. I am ecstatic for them and can't wait to see what kind of amazingly cool spawn they come up with. Note to
heiligekuh: now would be a good time to start journaling again, for the benefit of those who no longer share a coast with you, beeyatch
Finally, on a completely unrelated note, some NPR-related humor I feel compelled to pass along (the first of which was recommended by
lediva, I think)...
- This American Life Completes Documentation Of Liberal, Upper-Middle-Class Existence
- Corey Flintoff Unleashes Sonorous, Pleasantly Modulated String Of Obscenities
Ah, NPR and The Onion: two great tastes that taste great together. =:)

last night...
Date: 2007-04-22 11:23 pm (UTC)...THE AVENGERS. It's been 30 years since they played SF and it was great!
Plus the nerdy older guy (forgot his name) who was like 40 when we used to go to Gilman (who is now like 50) and always wore a dog collar and Pansy Division t-shirt and glasses and danced in front was there!
YAY FOR PUNK RAWK IN THE BAY!!!
Wish you could have been there. It would have been way more fun if you were there.
I won't sign this since if you can figure out who this is based on the content of my note then we are no longer friends.
BTW, TAL is way better on FM than TV. Kill Your Television!
Re: last night...
Date: 2007-04-24 01:13 am (UTC)And yeah, I totally remember that guy. I think his name is Joel. The Hope Bombs actually played his Birthday once, opening for Pansy Division (my brush with fame. Flaming, flaming fame).
Next time I'm in town (hopefully sometime in early summer. We are so going to... something. With any luck, the Stitches will be in town so we can go see them and then feel bad about ourselves afterward.
Oh, and...
...for the suggestion that I might not know who this is. =:P
