btw, for others who are going to the RPI larp weekend, here's my schedule. Also, I'm driving [livejournal.com profile] rigel and (I assume) [livejournal.com profile] contradictacat, which means that I could probably fit another person if someone needs a ride.

Friday:
Nothin', so I'll just be hanging out, gawking at the bizarre Yu Gi Oh larp that is the only thing running in that slot.

Saturday:
Marlowe 2020 -- not sure it's my style, but I keep missing opportunities to play at other cons
Another empty slot -- just hanging out, I guess
Michael Clambino's Fundraiser -- sounds fun and run by ChrisW. Two points in its favor.
Mystery at Hart Manor -- have heard mixed reviews. We shall see.

Sunday:
Child of light -- No idea what to expect here.

Anyone else going? I'm sad that I'm missing the WPI event, but I'll be at the season finale of Threads of Damocles instead.

Glad to hear you're playing in the two games I'm running! (I'm also running Marlowe.) :) Word of warning - if I don't get at least one more signup for your Clambino's slot, I won't be able to run the game. It's picky that way. So if you can get the word around a bit that we need one more player for that slot, that'd be awesome.

And yes, the YGO larp should be... bizarre.

I really enjoyed MaHM - it's still one of my very favorite 4-hour larps, and that is saying a LOT against some of the very strong games in that category. I hope you'll enjoy it!

Child of Light should be interesting - I played in the alpha run, and had a pretty good time. The writer got a lot of good feedback, so I'm thinking it'll be good.

Looking forward to seeing you!

Is the missing slot gender-specific?

I wish I had remembered that that larp weekend was this coming weekend - as RPI is my old college and it sounds like I'd enjoy the games and people. Unfortunately, I'm now NPCing another larp this weekend.

It's not this coming weekend, it's November 20th - weekend before Thanksgiving. :) Still plenty of time to sign up!

I've run Fundraiser before. It's a lot of fun - probably overall the best game from the Book of LARP. It's very simple and confined, but a solidly designed game.

I'm missing a YGO LARP!?!? ;_;

It's a YGOTAS LARP, actually. The Abridged Series - a Youtube thingie that makes fun of YGO. The redubbing is actually kinda hilarious. In America.

Trust me, you don't want to be in that one....

I'll be there. No idea what I'm in, actually, but we may be in some of the same stuff. I'm really just going to hang out with people :D

Not actually going, since I've played in most of the games and tbh, the only ones that look interesting are Marlowe 2020 and Child of Light and two games is not enough reason to go.

I'll be in the Troy area anyway for thanksgiving, so it's probably enough Capital District for me anyway.

It's possible to do a good VERSION of Marlowe 2020 in the same sense that it's possible to run a character-based intrigue tabletop game using Dungeons & Dragons. The unmodified version is ... missable.

Will be happy to hang out during empty slot time. I'm signed up for all of no games, but will likely be around. MAY be running GM space, but unlikely at this point

You're on!

In fact, my evening game just dropped, so it looks like I've got.. erm, pretty much nothin' after Sat am. =:\

I'm still undecided about going. I finally decided to sign up for WPI weekend yesterday and have been uncertain if I want to do this too.
