It seems I have grossly under-estimated when the Brandesians go home for Summer, making it pretty much impossible to have the karaoke party I've talked to some people about before most of them are gone. This makes me sad as I'm under the impression that they make up the majority of local people who would be interested in such a party. I know there are at least some folks who will be around and interested, though, so allow me to conduct a quick, informal poll. Are you:
- In the Bostonish area for the next month or so?
- Interested in attending a karaoke party?
The idea here is not to go to do re mi or somesuch, but to play with some software I've made for running karaoke parties on a PC plugged into the tv, with a web interface for adding tracks to the queue. I have... acquired a bunch of completely random music from Nat, but would also set up an ftp site where people could upload their own tracks.
For those of you who will be out of town but would be interested, never fear. If it doesn't happen now or if it happens and doesn't suck, I'll do another one later.

As for the FTP server thing, I'd like to say that if anyone has any trouble finding a version of a song they want to do, contact me in some way and I may be able to cover it. Of course, since it's a cover, it will sound a bit different, but I'll try to add stuff to it instead of subtract. I'm fairly satisfied with my covers right now and will probably be uploading some of those when the time comes to sing at the party.
