Apr. 1st, 2008 09:01 amHmm... I need opinions on this movie....
Pros:
Cons:
Pros:
- Jackie Chan!
- Jet Li!
- Jackie Chan and Jet Li!
- Jackie Chan with Das Uberhair!
- Badass assassin lady who fights with prehensile hair!
Cons:
- Token Annoying White Dude, reminiscent of Bulletproof Monk (*shudder*)
- Hokey "it has been foretold that an unlikely hero will ownxor the bad guy" plot
- Unlikely hero seems to be Token Annoying White Dude (of course)

On the other hand, the token white boy's name is Jason Tripitikas. Yes, that's right, the white boy is the Tripitaka. For some reason. At least, though, that means there's some rational reason for him to be from the west, even if it is too far west, and a good bit north.
Mostly, though, this movie looks like it's supposed to be lots of fun and lots of pretty. If you need it to be emotionally moving and intellectually satisfying, you might want to wait for video.
Relatedly, why is it that "wait for DVD," while certainly more accurate, just doesn't sound right . . . ?
