Dear Hollywood,

Are you really so desperate for ideas that you feel the need to remake things that came out while I was in freaking middle school?? I mean, seriously, remaking movies that I don't have clear memories of watching in the theaters is one thing, but... No. Just no.

...or, if you must, could you at least make it look more realistic than the one that came out in 1990? Geez.


What's next? A remake of Wayne's World with Will Farrell as Wayne?

Dude I can't believe you're coming down on this. It looks so awesome. It's like more like the comic book than the cartoon of it. The kind of half-cell-shaded computer animation they've got going on is just gorgeous.

For most part I agree with you that remaking old movies is generally a bad idea and Hollywood might be better served by trying to come up with something more original, but not in this case.

You almost sound as though there were some quality about the 1990 one that might be despoiled in some way by this remake.
I'm all for retries on gross irredeemable failures. It's the remakes of good movies that're bad.

Come on man, that trailer looks really good. The dialog is crap, but TMNT has always had crap dialog. The animation is gorgeous and it looks like fun. Why you gotta be a hater, huh?

Idunno. The animation just looked funky to me. And I grant that the original was far, far, far from being a good movie. But it just feels weird that they're already recycling material from 16 years ago.

This is the first I've heard about the thing, but if y'all are excited about it (rampant conformist that I am), I'll try to approach it with an open mind.

i'm with ya.

me, i thought the original was kinda bad (i was in elementary school then, since i'm a bit younger than you are ^_^) and this remake looks also-bad AND poorly animated. so yeah. i don't really see the point.

they have leo being smart in this one, so i have hope for it making the characters more individualized this time. :D
