Ok, I admit that I've come up with a lot of excuses for skipping church over the years, but "my car doors have frozen shut" is definitely the best one yet.

I'm thinking maybe if I poured warm water on the door that would free it up, but if it didn't they'd freeze even more and take longer to thaw naturally.

Ugh.

dude, you are in new england now. if you pour water on your car doors, you may not drive for a month!
if you must, get some of the heavy duty windshield washer fluid and put it in a spray bottle. it's made to not freeze.
