May. 25th, 2005 02:19 pmGreat. So my headcold cleared up this morning only to start heading south and now I'm losing my voice. On day three of a four day class. My strategy has been to conserve my voice by lecturing from the middle of the room in a conversational tone, sitting on the corner of a desk since I'm tired, instead speaking in "instructor mode", standing at the front of the room. So suddenly there's this wierd super-casual vibe going on like "gather round the campfire, chilluns and I'll learn ye about them Pluggable Authentication Modules".
So the purpose of this post was not so much to whine about being sick as to comment on that. Last time I was here some of my co-workers joked(?) that people on the far side of the building from me could make out my lecture clearly. At another place I was told that it sounded like Hitler was giving a speech in my room... and I think it was meant as a compliment. So lecturing in a conversational tone feels wierd enough that I felt it warranted comment. And there it is. So I'm done. So bye.
Edit: The throat losenges they have here make my tongue slightly numb, which feels really freaky.
