Ugh.

Having a sore throat yesterday was annoying, but now I'm actually sick. This morning I washed down vitamins and decongestant with airborne and have had nothing but water, more airborne and four mini-cans of V8 to drink. The theory was that if I threw enough vitamins and nutrients at my body it might somehow mistake its self for that of a healthy human. My body has yet to catch on.

And this is one of those middle-ground headcold things that that doesn't really incapacitate you or give you a reason not to show up for work (I can't exactly call for a sub anyway). It just makes you feel like crap, slogging through days that suddenly seem endless. Blegh. One more lecture to go. I'm so sick of talking. =:\

Ginger, garlic, spicy stuff, and ginseng are all good for throat/sinus badness. Also, try drinking milk; it sounds counter-productive, but I find that it actually can help if the problem involves already-inflamed/irritated mucous membranes. Additionally, hot water with lemon juice and honey is generally and generically good for sore throats.

My throat is actually significantly better now, almost not worth mentioning. The main annoyance at the moment is this stupid runny nose (which is expecially problematice when you spend your day in front of a classroom of people). Fortunately, as a side effect of not eating much because I've felt so lousy, I have no fewer than two different types of leftover curry with which to clear out my sinuses tonight. =:)
