I just sent an email to a historian friend of mine that it occurs to me might be worth mentioning generally, too.

So, I'm super happy that PowerPoint Karaoke has been a hit at both Intercon and Arisia now, and it looks like we may be asked to run it again at these and other cons. The thing is, while some PPK organizations use real (albeit out-of-context) presentations, or presentations that are literally just random sets of images, I try to do a sort of hybrid model, where each deck actually does have a topical narrative, even if it's just a very strange one that only exists in my head.

Anyway, at this point Julia and I have created about 200 slides, and there's only so much one can wring out of Google image search by one's self. Some of you are academics or otherwise in a position to come across all kinds of graphs, images, charts, and whatnot that might make sense (or not) within your field, but would be delightfully brain-breaking to those outside...

tl;dr: if you come upon an image that you think might work well for PPK, send it to me! If it's work-related, take care not to send me anything you'd get in trouble for sharing, of course, and please send it in a private message, rather than a public reply, since the fun is in surprising people with the content of the presentations.

Consider this a standing invitation. We keep a running cache of images that we use when an event is coming up and we need to make new presentations.

If you don't have contact info for me, this username @livejournal should work.

Also related to PPK, Intercon folks who do not follow Intercon X on Facebook may wish to weigh in on this question.
