(with apologies to readers who aren't into experimental larp/gaming, to whom this is going to make even less sense than it will to everyone else)

The best part is that I've played in a game not entirely unlike "The Handbook for Duchamp Scouts", and would totally play that (depending on what the book is made of).

Very amusing; thanks! I think "Murder, She Committed" fails to be Jerkform...because I could totally imagine Alleged Entertainment writing a playable game around that premise.

Speaking of AE, I also learned a useful new term from reading this: bleed. Very applicable to my experience last Friday playing in "Garden of Forking Paths"....

This reminds me of what little I know of Morton's List.

All I know about it is that it's very big at Origins, and the other people at Origins think it's annoying, but I have no personal issue with it. It seems rather discordian.

The website: http://www.mortonslist.com/ makes it seem very Discordian (all hail Eris).

Side issue: I am sick of people's obsession with "hipsters" as cultural villains. And I'm particularly done with the double-bind where to avoid being dissed as a hipster, one is expected to carefully track how obscure the things one likes are, to avoid mentioning something "as if you should have heard of it"... even though one of the other big hipster-hating rallying cries is "they're all obsessed with how popular things are instead of whether they're good".
