For Earth Day, Akamai is "hosting a mini 'e-Waste' recycling event. We will be collecting spent batteries, cell phones, ink cartridges and small appliances such as calculators and electric toothbrushes".

These can be annoying to recycle properly, so if you've got anything you've been meaning to recycle, feel free to give it to me and I'll bring it in (within reason, of course) before Monday.

If you're going to be at Festival, you can bring stuff to me there.

Um, I have a bag of spent batteries. It's kind of a lot--blame my camera eating AAs like candy. Mmm, delicious lithium. I can stop by with them tonight after wine tasting with M.

And thank you for the offer--I've been meaning to responsibly recycle these forever (I know the Somerville DPW has some procedure or Hazardous Waste Day in place, but I've been too lazy to look it up).

Sounds fine (note that M may or may not know about this post when you meet with here, so you might need to fill her in on the background). ;)

I have a bunch of CFLs to get rid of and was annoyed to notice I'd just missed the first day since fall, and will have to wait until May. FWIW, if you the next Somerville Hazardous Waste collection will be May 12th 9-12pm at the Department of Public Works (you know, that building behind Trum field).
