You forget the strangest things...
Mar. 12th, 2012 11:19 pmWhile packing up some stuff at BCOS I found a slip of paper tucked into a Perl book I probably haven't opened for ten years. It reads, in my handwriting:
"Idea: instead of destroying the world, she is offered the chance to die, but to do it she has to take everyone else with her"
No, I have no idea what it's about.

Date: 2012-03-13 02:24 pm (UTC)It sounds like someone who potentially wants to stop existing and is angry or unintentionally destroying the world. "god" "ghost" "demon" "super powerful sentient computer" who might not want to destroy the world but has enough pathos that destroying everyone else in order to end her own suffering is a structural dilemma.
Were you into folklore, religion etc at the time?

Date: 2012-03-13 02:10 pm (UTC)Here are a few I'd recommend. If these don't appeal to you then he's probably just not your thing.
His deconstruction of If I Die Young is a great example of the literary approach he takes to lyrics, which is one of my favorite things about him.
In a similar vein, it is a thing of wonder and amazement to me that he attempts (about halfway through) a Deep Analysis of Sexy and I Know It... and succeeds.
And finally, if you want some good old fashioned schadenfreude from watching a very angry and articulate person tearing Chris Brown a new one, look no further than his review of Deuces.
I look forward to hearing what you think!
ETA Oh, also worth noting: Whether you dig his stuff or not, his work really is independent of nchick's, as he's been making reviews (on youtube before he joined TGWTG) since 2009.
