Measure For Measure in Harvard Square. See it!

Just got back from the Anarchist Society of Shakespeareans' production of Measure For Measure and the worst thing I can say about it is to bring a snack because this is one of those plays that could have done with a cut or ten, hence why I'm writing this so late and will need to keep it short.

Short version: go see it. It's free with a $5 suggested donation, so you can decide what the performance was worth afterward if you like. The A.S.S. continues to surprise and always manages to do something... different with Shakespeare. Of course, everyone's always doing something "different" with Shakespeare, but there's a certain... character to their productions that, at least to me, seems genuinely novel, or at least genuinely, un-self-consciously fun.

So yeah, we'll leave it at the short version for now. To bed with me.

Remaining performances are: February 11, 17, & 18 at 8pm, and February 12 at 3pm at the Democracy Center near Harvard Square, 45 Mount Auburn Street, Cambridge, MA.

Edited. Thanks! I'd omitted the 11th from the list because I looked at my calendar and the 11th was "today", and I hadn't realized that it was past midnight so that actually meant "tomorrow". ;)

How long does it run? I'm planning to go to the matinee tomorrow, but have a class downtown at 6:30. Is it likely to run past 6?

It was two and a half hours last night, so the 3pm matinee should end at 5:30. I'll be there too!

I feel like Nick said he felt like it was likely to get faster as they tighten up over the run but don't quote me on that.
