Update on tonight's show

usernamenumberEdit Situation's sorted. We've worked out a few songs in the middle of the set that still benefit from drums, so I'm going to guest on those. Some of them are not ones I've done before, but I know the songs and the parts are simple enough, so I'm feeling good about it. Yay! :)
I want to give people reading this who might be at the Indelicates show tonight a heads-up that it might not end up being exactly as I advertised. They're just on an accoustic guitar and keyboard, and we're finding that without a full band, drums sound a bit wonky and overpowering.
Maybe we'll adapt things, or maybe I won't drum for them after all. And you know what? I'm ok with that. The destination becomes less important when the journey is fun, and this one has been remarkably fun and fulfilling. In preparing for this show I finally got a drum kit*, like I've been "thinking about doing" for years, I've been practicing more regularly than I have with anything in a while, and have been having a great time doing so. The Indelicates showed up last night to crash in the BCOS basement, and they're really lovely folks. We chatted and went out for pizza, and they're downstairs rehearsing as I write this. Picking up an instrument I love and getting to hang out with a band I respect and talk about everything from politics to broadway musicals is a fine outcome, gig or not.
So, I'm posting this (albeit at the last minute) because some people had, flatteringly, expressed interest specifically in seeing me play, and because I'm finding myself so remarkably pleased with the things leading up to tonight that, well, I wish to remark upon them. :)
I hope everybody can still make it out to the show, it's going to be good with or without percussion! Cantab Lounge in Central Square. Show starts at 8, Indelicates go on at 11.

* = two, actually, one acoustic and one electronic, for less than I could have paid for either kind new thanks to the magic of craigslist-- but that's another story
