Story-telling party?

I am wondering about having a story-telling party.
This would be a party where people come with a story to tell. I'm thinking 5-10 minutes long each, though really longer would be fine as long as it stays interesting. I'm thinking (mostly-)true stories, told a la The Moth, but I know a fair number of writers, and hey, if someone wanted to write a short fictional story, or even bring a favorite to read, hey, why not?
Anyway, some of my favorite party moments have been those late-night times when people are just sitting around swapping stories, and I know that some of you have some great ones, so...

As for dates, the next weekend date I'm free is June 4th or 6th, and I'm thinking about grabbing one of those. If you have a pref, say so in comments.

Date: 2010-05-05 03:01 pm (UTC)If you are interested in good examples of story-telling, The Moth podcast I linked to in the original post has some good stuff. You're probably familiar with This American Life, but if not it is also worth listening to. Also, Henry Rollins' spoken-word albums, believe it or not.
...but I digress. Sharing stories would by no means be required of anyone.
