or men who don't mind being crosscast, or people who don't care about gender, and honestly some more male apps wouldn't be a problem because we're actually now at "more than enough for one, almost enough for two runs" space, which is a standard awkward place for guild games.

Hey, believe it or not, this is not usually an issue out here. In most of the places I play the gender split is between 60/40 and 50/50. Tech schools like MIT and, to a lesser extent, RPI, do tend to be boy-heavy though.

Most larps I run have a roughly even split. We used to plan for 60/40, but kept getting more female players, so we shifted the gender ratio as we wrote more games. Tis No Deceit had a higher female character base than male, but that was also a musical larp.
