The problem isn't solved here, and stays the same as LOL, say I. If somebody made a joke, it will soon become disrespectful to use anything lower than a L5+, even if it was only mildly funny. L5+ will become too ubiquitous, the measurement system will become diluted by laugh inflation/exaggeration, and soon, everybody will be pining for the good old days of LOL. Humbug.
