bb1938.com, night two!
Oct. 30th, 2009 08:04 pmHoly crap! We sold 400 presale tix just for tonight, and that's not counting walk-ins. The house is packed! Last night went great. This show is EPIC. 3.5 hrs long. I talked to some folks who saw it opening night to ask them whether that was too much, and got one of the best compliments ever from
ratatosk, which went something like "I played pit in the Star Wars musical at MIT, which was four hours long. It was grueling but it was worth it. If someone had told Wagner to keep it short, the world would be the worse for it. Some shows deserve to be long, and your show is one of them".
Say what you will about Wagner, daaaaaamn, that's a nice thing to hear.
We still have performances at 2 and 8 on Saturday. Come come check us out! =:)

Date: 2009-10-31 06:00 pm (UTC)To be more exact, it would save me half an hour of my life listening to the sung conversation between a knight, a little birdie, and a dragon, saved me some sympathy for the dragon (which I quite liked; and then he was slain), some overall annoyance (because then I switched the TV off to mourn the dragon for a bit), the soundtrack from 'Excalibur', and a desperate friend who kept burning various recordings of 'Tristan' for me, claiming that 'it's very good, nobody expects you to like 'Meistersinger', but that -' alas, the spark never sparked.
But then this is just as well, since Star Wars gets no love from me either.
