Went to drum circle, but didn't have as much fun as I'd hoped. Ditched for the end of a game and subsequent dinner outing at Brandeis. Much better plan. Social acquired.

Damn, I really, really needed that.

if you are interested in drumming - the SCA has a drummer's group in the area that meets periodically. I do some middle eastern et al drumming - and I know that some people also explore african rythms - though I can't speak for the local group as I have actually yet to make one of their practices.

I have a doumbek and a ashiko, and would love to practice either. I find the doumbek much more challenging, so middle-eastern in particular sounds fun. Do send me an email the next time that's happening. =:)
