Ummm... whut?

I like my neighborhood, and I like Woodstock (as depicted on the DVD, at least), but... seriously, some things cannot be "re-created".

/me contemplates overrunning the place with muddy, naked hippies to assist them in re-capturing the original aesthetic

All that said, still may go. Music, people and whatnot.

The fact that it's in a (presumably tree-heavy) park, rather than a barren Air Force base, makes it not much of a 're-creation'. The thirty dollar vendor fee is another giveaway.

I'd bet they learned their lesson about faithfully re-creating Woodstock sometime around the disaster that was "Woodstock 2000".

But yeah, go anyway.

Indeed. You need a large open space to have any hope of recreating Woodstock. Something like... an abandoned airport.

Right, I was thinking it would be much better if they just called it a celebration of the anniversary of Woodstock, rather than presuming to call it a "re-creation".

Well, the art fair aspect is correct. My mom has an original poster for Woodstock, and it was very much billed as an arts & crafts events which also happened to have all these great musicians.

But yeah, the general tone is pretty uninviting.
