The only thing that could make this better is if hordes of people had then shown up at his doorstep offering him little green patches, turning him into a vampire, and whatever other annoying games people are playing on fb nowadays.

See, there are a -few- small things that FB is actually good at, that make it worth keeping the account on, but there are often days a a time when I don't even look at it.
One day there'll be another system which culls out those good bits and leaves out the crappy bits.
But it will lose because FB already has the critical snowballing mass of people. Web 2.0, where winners win more, and losers are never seen.
