@@$@!#$ing code pink! Argh! Who do you want to win this election anyway? Way to give McCain the highlight of his speech, you $EXPLETIVEing $EXPLETIVEs.

Seriously, is it possible to excommunicate people from liberalism or something? Can someone please look into that?

Bloody hell. I'm going to have a heart attack by the time this thing is over if my blood pressure keeps going up like this. =:(

Edit: On an up note, McCain did pretty much his entire speech in front of either a green or blue background. Again! Ooooh, another round already?.

Edit, part deux: Sorry, I was too agitated to link when I first wrote this. There's a short AP piece about CP and another, less embarrassing, protester here.

Ah, and of course it's already up on youtube (note that this was in the middle of McCain's bit about reaching out the opposition, etc):

...and no, much as I'd like to believe it they weren't plants. Apparently they did the same thing two days ago and are bragging about it on their website. No reason not to think this is part of the same "campaign".

I have no words. Not any I'm comfortable saying in public, anyway.

Sadly no. But this is why we have the word "leftoid", you know. I find words can be very therapeutic.

We should call them "enhanced activists" because they're torture to watch! *rimshot*

??? Could you enlighten those of us who spent all of this evening in class/an interview/rehearsal on what happened?

This sounds like a story (and possibly a rant) and I am very curious!

Sorry, shoulda linked. Basically, about two minutes into the speech, in the middle of McCain doing his spiel about reaching out to the opposition, a couple of Code Pinkers started screaming incoherantly and attempted to rush the stage. They were shouted down by the entire crowd chanting "USA! USA!" and dragged off by security, while McCain got to play the "now now, everyone" peacemaker. My first reaction was to hope that they were plants, since they played so perfectly into the GOP's hands, but of course now CP is bragging about it on their website. *grumble*.

There was also a vet (and Ron Paul supporter) who just sat there looking intense and holding a sign that said "McCain votes against Veterans" on one side and "You can't win an occupation" on the other. He was escorted out as well, but at least managed to make his statement without embarrassing everyone on the left and giving the right valuable ammo.

There's a short news piece here.

Me and my baseball bat have a few ideas about how to do that...

After you said that, I checked their website. It's sort of fascinating how that became "rocking the 2008 conventions" in their eyes...

Oh also, I looked into Code Pink more after you posted this--I agree with 99% of their mission statement and I STILL think they are a bunch of whack jobs. It's a great example of how people with the same goals can go about those goals in completely different ways...
