amadea has written a very interesting and thought-provoking defense (of sorts) of Sarah Palin. It's a bit strawman-ish IMO, but to the extent to which the positions she argues against are portrayed accurately I think she makes some good points. It's still hard not to see Palin's selection as a cynical and sexist attempt to lure so-called "identity voters" to the Republican ticket, but its always good to be reminded that one can't boil things down too much and about how, if people don't stop to check primary sources, the Internet Opinion Machine we all take part in can self-sustain with or without solid facts behind it.
