Some time ago an old college friend of mine named Nathan took the brave/crazy step of leaving his job as a sysadmin to start his own company. It's an online gaming company, in fact, specializing in head-to-head web-based puzzle games. He first told me about this... quite a while ago, and now it's all coming to fruition. They've got games, they've got a site and they're getting ready to start beta testing. I'm so impressed that he's actually seen such an ambitious project through not because I didn't think he would, but because I know there's no way in hell I would have. =:)

The site is Skill City Games and, though they're still in the affore-mentioned beta, they'll be worth keeping an eye on. Their "Antskrieg" and "Librum Confundo" games look really fun (unfortunately it's Windows-only, so I don't have the ability to play while I'm on the road).

Plus, Nathan's been blogging his thoughts and experiences as a fledgling game designer at "Puzzle Blocks" on Blogspot, which I've taken the liberty of making an LJ feed for. It's good reading. I particularly enjoyed his most recent article.

Ok, I so have to go to bed an hour ago.

I don't think I know your email, so this is the fastest way to contact you, I suppose.

Just wanted to drop a note to say THANK YOU again so many times over for Title of Show. I finally got a chance to listen to it and I loved it. Also, the Evil Dead stuff is cool - I'm guessing the musical has more songs then you put on the cd, yes? I'll have to track down the rest, if so ^^ By the by, Toby has decided that he really, really likes Evil Dead: the musical. He's had it in his car for a while and has been listening to it on repeat. It's kind of funny. Thought you might like to hear that you are succesfully spreading it around. ^^ And that is all for now.

Eeexcellent. =:)

Yeah, as soundtracks go, I actually like Title of Show more than Evil Dead. The whole feel of the show is just so... charming. Plus, as schmaltzy and dime-store-therapy as it is, I still tear up at the "then die the vampires/filling you with life..." climax of "Die Vampire, Die". =:)

Then again, in terms of the complete experience, like which one I would rather see every weekend for a month: it's Evil Dead all the way.

I guess that isn't entirely fair, since sadly I've never seen Title of Show live, but I doubt their live show involves as much fake blood, and you just can't beat walking out of a theater with a bunch of other happy, singing people, all covered in gore. =:)

And, yes, I only put about half of the show on the CD. I take pity on poor students, but tell Toby that it'll be worth his while to give them a few bucks and get the whole thing. I guarantee there are several great songs that didn't make it into the version you have. =:)

Oh, and I'd been meaning to tell you that I got to listen to that Cabaret CD today. First, Alan Cumming is teh awesome. Second, I think my favorite song so far is one of the more under-stated numbers, "So What?". That walzy chorus is just delicious. I don't know if the show is ever going to be one of those things I just throw on for fun, since just knowing the backdrop for it makes it so _dark_, but it is still a great recording. Thank you for sharing it.

If you ever need to email me, the address on my profile page will get to me (my username at livejournal).

Ah, my kingdom for an Evil Dead karaoke cd....
