Dear people of New York,

The other cars will not move faster if you honk. No, not even if you honk in extended bursts of 10-15 seconds at a time. Seriously, I thought that stuff was a sterotype, but after listening to your constant honking from my classroom all week, y'all really need to chill out.

Hugs and kisses,

'Course they'll move faster. Just like if you're waiting for a lift, pushing the button repeatedly will make it arrive faster. :)

But seriously, they're just being careful to observe the strict New York City Vehicle Horn Code, under which it is illegal to honk your horn except to communicate one of the following emergency messages:

1) The light is green.
2) The light is red.
3) I hate you.
4) This vehicle is equipped with a horn.

AHAHAHAHA IT IS SO TRUE.

(i would also like to note that the same code seems to be in effect in philadelphia, where i currently reside.)

hehe. when i was in manhattan for those 5 minutes there was very little honking. but i also saw a sign that read "honking 300$ fine". you should put one of those up by you.
