Feb. 15th, 2006 12:46 pmI picked up some sad news today from
andmydog, which I'm passing on for those who don't have her freinded and would care: Last night, Andreas Katsulas, who played G'Kar on Babylon 5 died after a year-long fight with lung cancer. JMS's comments on the event were characteristically touching.
It's weird to find myself really being affected by this. I'm not bawling or anything, but I did find the news very moving. It's not the loss of the character, even, I'm not so fargone in fanboy-ness to lose sight of the fact that this was a real person, but I really appreciated the sincerity and passion that characterized his performance, especially later in the series. Katsulas, like Richard Biggs who died in 2004, endeared himself to me through the quality of his work on a show that, if it grabbed you at all, grabbed you and didn't let go until the ride was over.
He will be missed.
