That feeling when...

...you run into a technical problem, go searching through the relevant forum for an answer, and find a post from someone with the same problem, plus a follow-up with the solution they found "in case anyone else ever runs into this issue"... and those posts are by you, you just don't remember ever writing them.

Thanks, past me?

As compared with doing all of the above and *not* having documented the fix (which I haven't done publicly, but have a couple instances of when looking back through company email), this is splendid. :)

(My most recent one, to be fair to myself, the reason I couldn't find a solution was that the solution was "this isn't at all doable short of data surgery, which is how we accomplished it last time.")

Yup. I love that feeling. Especially when what past me wrote makes it really clear that I used to understand the particular thing I’m working on much more deeply than I do now.

This must be the inverse of "This code is utter shit! Whomever wrote it should be shot! *type type* oh."
