If you're in the Boston area then you're probably just gotten an invite to this, but I know there are some non-Boston people out there who would enjoy using their creativity to make others suffer, so read on (particularly "Thing 3")...

The following is from the event invite, which is also here (https://www.facebook.com/events/451188968273178/)

Everyone has BS'd their way through a presentation or two, but are you ready to take it to the next level? Come watch or take part in an improvisational event where each participant presents a slide deck so carefully assembled by our certified Applied Rhetorical Scaffolding Expert Speakers that it won't matter that they've never seen them before!

(( Translation: participants are given a powerpoint presentation. Participants are given a powerpoint presentation. They know the title of the presentation, but now what's on the slides. They then give a presentation anyway, using those slides. Hilarity ensues. See the youtube link further down for examples. ))

I need three (3) things for this event!

Thing 1: PRESENTERS! It would be great to have some people I know are going to be at the con and willing to present. Respond here or send me a message and I will guarantee you a spot as event time allows! People who do not express interest ahead of time will also have a chance to step up during the event.

Thing 2: AUDIENCE! Even if presenting isn't your cup of tea, what is a presentation without presentees? Join the audience!

Thing 3: DECKS! This time around I want to experiment with using slide decks submitted by guest Applied Rhetorical Scaffolding Expert Speakers! If you have an idea for a topic, send me a message (of course, you will not be allowed to present your own deck)!

Finally, here's a playlist of some of the expert presentations given at our Intercon 2012 event!

Feel free to invite others!

It sounds hilarious, but I suspect it will be very picture-heavy, and I wouldn't be able to see the slides well enough to pull it off. :(

Hmm... I would love to be able to accommodate you. Do you know what kind of accessibility tools the con might be able to provide, and/or within what parameters I could make a deck that wouldn't be a problem for you? I'd be happy to at least try to make one you would be able to use, because I think you'd be great at it. :)

You are so sweet! It would help to have the slides printed out (one slide per page) ahead of time, and use slides that don't use tiny print. And maybe where it's really obvious what the pictures are, even if one can't see a lot of detail?

I think I should be able to work within those parameters. I'll keep you posted!
