[livejournal.com profile] captainecchi just said something beautiful in her post-Intercon post:

"""
I think the excellence of this weekend can be summed up by the thought I had, Saturday night, as I was changing costumes. Looking at the sore spots from wearing a corset, and the bruises on my arms from fencing, I found myself thinking, "This is exactly what I wanted, as a teenager, my adult life to be like."
"""

This made me smile a lot, and it resonated with me (well, the corset bit less than the others), even though I don't think I can say it's exactly true of me.

I never really had a clear Vision of where/how I wanted to end up when I was younger. If I had, I almost certainly wouldn't have taken the route I've taken to get here, and thus probably wouldn't have ended up here at all. But I've always known what makes me happy, and I've always tried to keep those sorts of things in my orbit and figured that if I do that, and don't do things that overtly jeopardize my ability to keep doing that in the future, I'll be ok. And so far... things are pretty damn ok.

That was super cheesy. Also, poignant!

Non sequitur: Smiley seal, though less hilarious, is much friendlier than eat-your-children seal.
