I ended up getting to guest with The Indelicates for two gigs on their tour, instead of the originally planned one. I had a lovely time, and feel like I learned something about the Glamorous Rock and Roll Lifestyle, most notably that it involves a lot of sitting around and waiting between load-in/soundcheck (if you get the latter at all), the other bands starting, and you actually going on. That said, I'm glad I did it, and would jump at the chance to do it again, though I'm not so sure I would want to make a career of it.

The Providence show started around 11, ended around 1:30am, and by the time I'd said my goodbyes and hit the road it was a bit past 3. I got to the campsite where Seven Virtues was running at around 5am, just in time to say "good night" to the lady who runs it, slept for about three hours, and then got up to say "good morning" to same, who'd already been up for who knows how long (seriously, this woman is a machine). Held myself together with sugar, caffeine, and the occasional blessed nap, then drove home around midnight after tromping around playing make-believe in the cold, wet grass.

In other news, for some reason I've come down with a nasty cold.

Meh, whatever. Totally worth it. :) I'm working from home today and trying to remain productive, but before I close and go tend to that, one last ego stroke: some nice folks took video of a few of the songs I played on. Sadly, since much of the crowd at the Providence show wouldn't shut up when the bands started, the videos from that show aren't so great (though it should be noted that Simon Indelicate executed an elegant coup by inviting one of the louder/drunker ones up to the stage to play the tambourine for a song, which actually decreased the ambient noise level-- the dude even got a solo), so here's one from the Cantab. It feels a little self-indulgent, but what the hell, I got to play drums for one of my favorite bands. How cool is that?
