Putting this here and then crossposting to Twitter, since the latter is not so great for conversation and I'd welcome comments if people have them.

Think Occupy Wall St. is a phase? You don't get it

It's true, I don't. I think I kind of get where the author is pointing, but still need to chew on it more. I'm having trouble seeing what's supposed to come of this, or if that's not the point, what the point is. Then again, the fact that it, and the surrounding issues, have just been talked about so much of late (I know it's been on my mind a lot), and some of the things I've learned about the way they organize themselves... maybe that points to a more subtle change in the zeitgeist, and maybe that's the big thing that it stands to accomplish.
I've mentioned to some folks already that [livejournal.com profile] preraphaelite and I are planning on moving in (to her place) together. It's a big move, and neither of us is going to pretend not to be nervous about it, but it also feels right to both of us, and we're excited. :)

There's no specific timeframe for this other than that it would have to be after Nov 1, when she migrates to another unit of her current building, and that if it's not feasible for me to move before the snows start (which, frankly, I think is likely) it will have to wait until things have thawed out, because... just no. Not trying to move all my stuff during an MA winter, thanks.

Along with logistics and weather, one of the main things that needs to be dealt with before moving is feasible is finding someone to take my place at BCOS*. Rent would be $680/mo plus 1/5 of gas, electric and FIOS. The 73 bus stops across the street and runs every 10-20 minutes straight to Harvard Square, so it's a nice balance between convenience to the Red Line and not paying to be right on it. We also have seriously the best landlord I've ever had. Oh, and the housemates are pretty swell too. ;)

If people could keep ears out for folks who might be interested at some point in the future, I would appreciate being put in touch. When a viable replacement at BCOS comes along will, in part, determine the timing of the rest, so consider the request to be standing until further notice.

* = BCOS (that's the nickname of my current house, but I think everyone knows that) has a reputation for being a pretty high-energy household, but it's worth noting that while it's still social, the current incarnation is significantly more chill than it's been in the past.
