notes on this evening.
Jan. 22nd, 2010 12:41 amWell, I can now cross "attend burlesque troupe cast party" off my life's TODO list. Danced the evening away with beautiful people of many shapes, sizes and states of dress. 'Twas different, but had a grand time. Many thanks to
arwenivy77 for the invite and the company.
I really need to dance more. Tonight I was starting to run out of steam emotionally, but I feel like this has given me back some Cope (note to self: must attend 90's night sometime).
Earlier this week I was also losing momentum, but made myself go out anyway. This isn't always a good tactic for me, but that time it resulted in spending the evening in a cuddle/conversation pile, which had a similar restorative effect.
Exercise and general socialization are big parts of the phenomena (doo-doooo-dee-doo-doo), I know, particularly tonight, but being a naturally very self-concious person, I think the un-self-concious and trusting environments required and engendered by both activities provide extra boosts for me.
My only complaint: my knee seems to give out consistently when I dance for extended periods nowadays. This is really unfortunate.
On a completely unrelated note, there are Russians in snow gear and carrying snowboards waiting for the bus with me. There being no mountains I'm aware of that are accessible by public transit out here, it's one those scenes one suspects is indicative of a really cool story, I only one knew what it was.
C'est la vie.
