Karaoke and stuff 3/15
Mar. 11th, 2009 11:44 amHey folks,
I posted a while ago about seeing if people wanted to do some combination of karaoke and britcom this Sunday evening. It looks like some of your are free and some of you aren't. That's actually fine since I don't have the brain to organize anything big, so here's the deal:
On 3/15, sometime around, say 5, I'm going to host a public beta of my karaoke setup. Nothing fancy, just people coming over, hanging out, singing and doing other stuff as the mood strikes us. I've got a ton of tracks already, but if you have something you're dying to perform, send it to me (or ask whether I have it) @ my username at lj. Note that it needs to be an mp3/cdg combo, not just an mp3 with the vox removed. You can find these at places like this and this.
We will probably do karaoke in my room since it's already set up there and there's tons of room. If we get bored of that or it gets too late for noisiness, I'll break out The Mighty Boosh or Black Books or somesuch.
RSVPs are swell.
Oh, and if you have a decent microphone that uses a standard 1/8" jack, or a mic with a separate amp, that'd be great, as amplifying the singer is not something I've quite figured out how I want to do.
Also also, since the library is accessed via the web, bring wifi-enabled laptops if you have them, please.
