Intercon games overload!
Nov. 3rd, 2008 01:04 pmThe Intercon-I schedule is up and geez the con is going to be HUGE this year. So many choices! I don't think there's a single slot I'm not conflicted about. =:(
And so, before the signups open on Wednesday, here's what I'm thinking about each slot. If anyone has experiences or opinions that might sway me here, I could really use some help!
Fri evening:
I've heard good things about Elanthia, but Story Wars is the sequel School for Young Women, which I've heard even more about. Story wars seems more my style (Arnold Rimmer and Londo Molari as PCs? It'll be awesome if it doesn't suck!), but there's something to be said for variety and breadth.
Sat morning:
Jamais Vue is a game I've heard good things about for years, but I seem to remember people raving about To Kill a Vampire after last year's FoTL, so I'm leaning toward it.
Sat afternoon:
Gah! So many people have told me I have to play in Across the Sea of Stars and I'd pretty much made my mind up for it to be my first choice, but I hadn't realized that it takes up two slots and conflicts with some games I really wanted to play in. =:(
If I didn't do AtSoS I think my first choice would be It was space but they still heard her scream, but Starship Edsel. That Space Game (though based on the description I'd have discounted it if it weren't being run by GMs I know know what they're doing) and Dreams of Peace, Dreams of War (for something more serious/diplomacy-oriented) all look tempting as well.
Sat evening:
Again, assuming I don't do AtSoS, lots of decisions here. The above comments about Rimmer and Molari notwithstanding, I am not generally into fan LARPs, and neither The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen nor Harry Potter are huge fandoms of mine, but from reading
captaineichi's posts about writing it and hearing good things about it from
natbudin I have to admit I am intrigued by The League of Extraordinary Hogwarts Students. But then, I've also missed two previous opportunities to play in Marlowe 2020, which is supposed to be great and then there's Martha Stewart's Guide to Interdimensional Summoning (and Basting a Turkey), which... well, ok, I haven't even read the description yet, but the title alone is tempting.
Sun morning:
This would be a tough call between Time Travel Review Board and GM Space, but I'll probably be helping to playtest the latter, so it'll probably be TTRB in this slot.
I asked
natbudin really nicely if he would just make the con last two weekends instead of one, but he said no. Meanie. =;P
