If any of you are in the SD area and have $75-$140 to blow, check this out. The Coachella music and arts festival is a two-full-days concert ($75/day or $140 for both).
Day One headliners:
Radiohead
The Pixies
Kraftwerk
Day Two headliners:
The Cure
Flaming Lips
Belle & Sebastian
Daaaamn. I'm not even immensely into most of those bands, but throw in the attached film festival and art installations and... wow. That much palpably concentrated alternaemoartyboy pretension in one place... it just blows the mind. I hope there are surviors left to tell me about it when it's over.

(On a hilariously geeky sidenote, that character in linguistics is referred to as an "ash" and so for a while I took to signing my first and middle names as "Emily æ." Does it get any more linggeeky?!)

Date: 2004-04-19 10:42 am (UTC)don't remind me. i would probably hate the other attendants, but i reeeeaaally want to see most of those bands, and though i wouldn't pay to see a cure only concert, i wouldn't complain about them being there either.
