Supposing one wanted to get away from it all for a few days... what would y'all suggest? Something geeky and social is generally my thing, like a con or something (sadly I apparently just missed DragonCon and don't know of any others in the coming weeks), but I'm open to other suggestions.

Edit: Eh, nevermind. Between pmrp rehearsals/performances and a family reunion next weekend (which is a getaway of sorts), I'm pretty much booked through the end of the month. Mrghf. Maybe November.

Ooh...I would suggest P-town, but I don't know of any events actually happening there currently. I bet you could also set up a tent with the faire folks, considering how highly they seemed to think of you. :)

Well, afaik KRF isn't an overnight deal, and it's only through the end of the month... but there is a Saturday I'm free when I could maybe ask about helping at the drum shop again. Thanks for the suggestion.

Come to Icon. Ok, yes, it's in a different time zone... but we have cookies!

Albacon is this weekend in Albany with a few Arisian and PiCon faces on the panels.

Sadly not an option (see edit about being booked through the end of the month), but otherwise I would consider it... especially if I had a place to crash. =;)

This weekend is concert, then housewarming, then several things I haven't decided between, so no room. =:(

Huh, I don't see much about gaming or non-celebrity-related events, or is it mostly a stars-and-autographs kind of con?

You do know what I'm quoting, right? (Unfortunately I have no "Worf" icon handy, else I'd have used it.)

Ah. Heh. Don't recall a specific episode, but I do get the Worf->Minsk connection.

I'm not certain, but I think it might have been the final episode of DS9, when the O'Brien's are contemplating where they should move to on Earth. I can understand why you might have blotted it out of your memory.

Caveat: I have not been to this.

From what I've been told, this is a large fannish con, with a lot of big name media guests. There are a lot of panels, art room, regular music, gaming, etc, etc.

I also don't think he's watched S6/7 of DS9 in any organized fashion.
