Missed opportunities...

I should preface this by saying that I had a very nice day yesterday. Very fun trip to the MFA with faerieboots, rustycoon, and freckles42 (who is new to the neighborhood and to whom everyone should say hi), dinner at Christopher's and then some time in the evening with juldea that went.. complicatedly but on the whole very well from my pov.

Anyway, the point I wanted to make is simply this: the problem with following celebrities on Twitter is that it allows you to experience enticing first-person glimpses of events that you are not at:

"amandapalmer: I love @jasonwebley more than I can explain. He changed the world tonight with his anniversary show. Real, love, tomatoes, balloons."

Also, GIANT TOMATO CAKE.

I hate it when you don't realize how much you wanted to be part of something until the opportunity has passed. =:(

I don't follow celebrity twitters because something about a false sense of intimacy with someone who will never give a shit who I am bugs me on a deep level.

But then, this is the guy who doesn't play MMORPGs because there are people who play them ALL DAY and I don't want to have to compete with them.

Anyway, your point makes a lot of sense too.
