Watchmen made me say some things that I am unaccustomed to saying
Such as...
"I am glad to have seen that film... once."
"Except for the places where it compromised, I was impressed by how un-compromising it was."
"You know, I really respect the number of penises in this movie."
"I don't think I've ever seen 99 Luftbaloons used in quite that way"
"There are times I'm in the mood for super heroes, and times I'm in the mood for porn, and they rarely intersect. I guess I'm weird like that."
"Mozart's Requiem... really?"
"If they were going to change the end at all, I'm impressed that they didn't wimp out, given how many places it would have been easy to do so. In a way, what they ended up with was a lot heavier and more provocative than what Moore did."
Probably more, but it's 3am. Spoiler-free summary: Lots of mixed feelings, but mostly I was impressed, at times more with the gutsiness of some of their choices than with the movie its self.
Also, be warned: It is 2.5 hrs long. Sleep now.
